When the US Open is being held, New York puts on its best. In conjunction with one of the most important sporting events in the United States, various actions and activities are being held in the city and Olive Oils from Spain wanted to participate in one of the most important ones: Taste Of Tennis.
Taste of Tennis is a renowned gastronomy and tennis event which has been established as a reference off the court all by its own merits. And we wanted to be there. So, on August 25th, we found ourselves in one of the most relevant kitchens on the international stage, that of Marcus Samuelsson, along with our ambassador, Rafael Nadal.
It was quite the tennis culinary experience with important tennis players, the best chefs on the New York gastronomy scene and other famous people from the world of sports, fashion, TV and more attending as well as coverage by dozens of international media teams.
The event was also attended by Ms. Isabel Garcia Tejerina, the acting Spanish Minister of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, who went to New York to support the international promotional campaign “Born in Spain, Admired Around the World” which Olive Oils from Spain is developing in collaboration with the Ministry she represents and the campaign ambassador, Rafael Nadal.
There, we were able to enjoy some wonderful recipes cooked by Marcus Samuelsson along with Rafa’s invaluable help.
They prepared Catfish with Blackening Rub and Summer Couscous and Heirloom Tomato Vinaigrette, all cooked with the flavor of our oils… delicious!
Would you like to re-live the moment when Rafa showed his talent as a chef? He really proved to be a champion at the stove.
